I'm trying to get a reverse gear into a v-drive boat;(a gear box set towards the front of the boat the directs the power from the back of the engine towards the front of the boat VA the v-drive back to the rear of the boat out to the prop at the rear of the boat) as there isn't a lot of room between the back of the engine and the v-drive I've been looking at the possibilities of installing a velvet drive transmission, but the cost exceeds this application, so looking into alternatives,I understand that some of the transmission behind the FE engines are bolt on bell housings, my question is did a c-6 ever has the configuration of a two peace transmission, and was there any other transmission that are two peace transmissions that would handle the power of a 390 mildly built,(I think that the FMX

but weak transmissions and the C-4 where two peace)was there any other two peace that fits the 390 bolt pattern ???

does anybody make a adopter plate or bell housing that

eliminates the torque converter, as in a boat it won't be necessary ???/
