On the smooth bowl converter's ( ribbed units started around 1972 ?....there are TWO different size crank pilot's used.(smooth bowl only)
They look the same at a glance, but the crank pilot HEIGHT is not the same....the diameter is 1.848 on both
The stall is the same on both....1600 to 1800
One crank pilot is .960 tall.........the other is 1.200...
What I am saying here is : before installing the unit, make sure that the converter fits the crankshaft pocket..
I can't recall which units fit what engine.....but there are TWO different size's........BE AWARE......................Donnie
