hello all
im new here and have a 1970 f100 that i bought for $300. The tranny was out of the the truck so i had to replace it. This was another 3 bills to buy and have installed as i didn't have the time to do so myself or the place to do it. this truck has 58K orignal miles with the factory rubber floor mats, seat cover and all factory glass. I do know the difference from factory and aftermarket it comes from 30 yrs in the autobody field. The body is straight with no rust at all on the truck. It does have some usual surface rust in the bed. I did find some camper special mirrors to replace the swingaway ones that were on it. It has a 360 c6 motor and trans getting ready to buy headers for it as i had the driver side manifold surfaced and it still leaks using the standard felpro gaskets. I also put new grade 5 bolts and washers on the manifold. When i first replaced the manifold i used a ratchet to tighten with a li'l at a time testing for leaks as i went. Till i had it so tight i couldn't use the ratchet any more and had to use my 1/2 breakover till i thought i was close to twisting point then stopped. I also would welcome any info or feedback on a third member swap that i might be able to get better gas milage from im hoping for maybe around a 250 gear ratio. the onlt thing this truck will ever pull is a 16' bass boat to the local lakes. I used to have a 77 ranchero that had this same ratio that my father bought new and ordered this ratio in it as he lived 30 miles from work one way. Wish i still had it was the best li'l truck i ever had the pleasure to ever own. i was hoping to maybe use a swap from a big ltd or merc or towncar maybe. the rear end looks kinda like the dodge dana 60 unit with a solid one piece housing. As it is i use 1/4 tank a day going to work and back only and at todays gas price this adds up fast. Soon as i can i will add some pics of my sweet find on this truck. I have already been offered $1,500 for it but turned it down. With very little work and a paint job i figure i can get $5,000 or better out of it.
steve a T.G.D.

1969 Ford F-100. 302 4 barrel, C4 auto, 9in 3.50 open rear, headers, power steering, Turq/wht, Under restoration. In other words, in a million pieces!!!
well we're okies as in oklahomans. it's actually kind of a derrogetory remark out in cali. back in the gold rush days people would go there for their fortune found in gold and come up empty handed, and no where to live so the locals called them all okies. but everywhere else okies are just oklahomans.
"Nahh, go ahead and cook, we'll trow it out. Wouldn't want you to get rusty."
