Glue between skin and frame?

Post by SoCalRefuge »

What is the glue that is used between the body skin and some of the internal framework? For instance, between the skin of the hood and the underlying framework some bonding glue was used. Mine is loose and I want to repair it.

Thanks.

They put some type of mastic between the panels to keep the flex and noise down. It really doesn't bond the panels together, It just fills the gaps.

You can use a low expansion foam like Evercoat 654. 2 part foams are available but require a special $35 caulking gun.
